CZW vs. ROH

I really hope that both companies release a CZW vs. ROH DVD after the angle is finished, so that more people can watch the most interesting feud in wrestling since the nWo. A DVD with all the inter-brand matches, altercations and promos would have been awesome, and would probably draw more fans to the product. I guess not everyone do as I do.. get hold of CZW shows just so I can watch Generation Next vs Blackout (and skip the rest of the show).

Truly an awesome feud, the intense hatred and anger against each other seems so real.

That's because the talentless yardtards at CZW exemplify everything that's wrong with wrestling today. ;D

...

Okay, that's a slight exageration.  But the reason the feud is so good is that it's based a lot on real feelings.  Unlike TNA's neverending EVIL CANADIAN TEAM schtick, there actually is a real difference in opinion between CZW fans and ROH fans.  Since it seems to be topical at the moment, one could almost call it a battle over the soul of ECW.

Ring of Honor exemplifies the fiercely independent side of ECW's nature.  The part which boldly presented itself as a different and exciting alternative to the cartoony wrestling on TV, featured amazing athletic matches between some of the best athletes in the world, tight booking, and so on.

Combat Zone Wrestling exemplifies the ultraviolent "hardcore" side.  It recognizes that edgy content, blood, and violence for its own sake was a real part of the ECW experience, and focuses their product on continuing to deliver content in the same vein.  It emphasizes the willingness to put your body on the line to put on the best possible show for the fans.

Which product is better?  What did ECW really stand for?  It depends on what you like.

If you're a ROH fan, CZW comes across as riduculous in its overblown, contrived, and unnecessary violence, and many of its top stars seem like talentless hacks who only have their positions because they're willing to jump through panes of glass.

But if you support CZW, ROH seems like a ridiculous pretentious bunch of stuck up pricks who have forgotten what wrestling in Philadelphia is REALLY about, and many of their top wrestlers are cowards who won't take the risks their favorites do night in and night out.

The truth is somewhere in between.  And that's why the feud is so hot.
