THE RIBS ARE IN THE CHEST, PEOPLE

AnubisPosted on 03/13/06 at 09:14:15

Sorry for the outburst, but I'm sick of bookers portraying the ribs as being in the stomach.  They did it with DDP's "rib injury", and now they've done the same thing with Cage's!

Seriously, in you didn't see it, Cage had his ribs taped (as if that does anything to help anyway) from about his belly button down into his tights.  THE RIBS ARE NOT DOWN THERE.  What kind of mutant has ribs in his stomach?  I dunno about you guys, but my ribs end about three inches ABOVE the belly button.  Ridiculous to the max.  Seriously.
pszPosted on 03/13/06 at 13:57:42

It's to keep the abs from expanding and pushing out the ribs when breathing heavy. (That's the portrayal, anyway)
AnubisPosted on 03/13/06 at 21:11:03

It's still dumb and unrealistic.
91Posted on 03/13/06 at 23:22:27

Whilst in wrestling the taping sometimes strays too low, psz is dead on, you shouldn't be taping the ribs directly. As per the Yahoo health section...

In the past, it was common to tape or tightly wrap the injured rib area. While this may help lessen pain, it also keeps the chest from fully expanding when you breathe in, so you cannot take adequate breaths. This can lead to small areas of lung collapse and may make it more likely for you to get pneumonia.

Most rib belts that are used to treat such injuries are clearly worn just below the ribs - here's a picture of someone wearing such an item...

Is that a protrudence from your occipital protuberence?

Wha---??

Something's jutting out of the back of your brain?
PulsarPosted on 03/14/06 at 03:55:42

You're opinion is just Anubis, but it is now common for a wrestling fan to go "Belly taped, must be a rib injury." It's an illusion

"That Anubis guy is the most negative bastard I've ever seen on the wrestling internet. That is saying ALOT!" - hugebacklundfan 2
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/14/06 at 06:40:59

Sorry Unright, just having a Gorilla flashback.

And Ray... you ain't much better for trying to start a flame war, pal.
AnubisPosted on 03/14/06 at 07:01:20

Who is hugebacklundfan 2? Am I getting like famous in the wrestling community or something? I didn't think I'd spread out so far. Hell yeah I'm negative (not much to be positive about these days in wrestling), and I suppose technically I do fit the dictionary definition of bastard seeing as my biological father was kicked out of my life (albeit rightly so because he was abusive) by the time I was born even.

So what's you point? Hahaha.

As for the ribs thing, okay, so you secure just below the ribs. Still, DDP and now Cage practically had the tape low enough to secure their nuts! I mean, it started just like a centimeter above the waistline of the tights and went down into them. Makes me wonder, hahaha!

Take that picture and lower the thing by a foot; that's where Cage had his "ribs" taped.  Taped bladder is more like it.

Since that Obsessedwithwrestling dude won Worst non-wrestler of the year in 2005, I think Anubis should at least get nominated for 2006  ;D

Trust me, I'm thinking of giving him a write in vote.........
UnrightPosted on 03/14/06 at 18:10:21

Actually I think 'Bis has tamed down a bit.  Sure he's strongly opinionated, but if you can't deal with strong opinions on the net or in real life without starting a fight, then you've got problems.
AnubisPosted on 03/14/06 at 21:37:28

Yeah, I haven't lost my temper around here in like . . . months.  TiLo makes is tough to keep my cool, too, yet I still manage.  I've been getting along with everyone lately.
91Posted on 03/14/06 at 22:08:12

I know, everything is so calm now nobody is fighting with Anubis all the time. It's like the old days on the old boards where no fights used to happen, nobody used to bitch about other people posting their circuits on the main board or begging for registration codes on the multimedia boards or wishing cancer on one another. Or is that exactly what used to happen? Either way, it's a lot more peaceful now.
pszPosted on 03/15/06 at 01:29:32

Or people wondering why you couldn't run TNM 6.2+ directly from QBasic...
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/15/06 at 03:17:46

TiLo, you write in Anubis and I write in Ray Wong.  :)
TiLoBrownPosted on 03/15/06 at 04:58:09

Oh yea, he's calmed down don't get me wrong. Just I hold grudges for a long time. Ask Carp.

And Rick....I'm staying out of that ;)
CrplsPosted on 03/15/06 at 08:13:00

Ray's got a great gimmick. Leave the guy alone.
TiLoBrownPosted on 03/15/06 at 08:34:53

Yea, well Anubis has my gimmick and I want it back.

Anubis! Me and you! WrestleMania!

Wait, I'm not HHH...........
AnubisPosted on 03/16/06 at 00:00:06

I had a snappy comeback, but decided it'd be better not to stir the pot.

I was also gonna say something funny about something else, but then remembered I said I wouldn't shill anymore.

So yeah, I guess there's absolutely no point to this post.
TiLoBrownPosted on 03/16/06 at 00:15:26

LOL, I figured you'd know I'm just jokin with ya after the WM part. Feel free to post what you want. These are peaceful times, I don't think one stray comment will start a war again.
AnubisPosted on 03/16/06 at 04:03:19

Well I was gonna say "if you write me in, I'll write you in", but wasn't sure how it'd be taken.  Heh.

As for the other, I was gonna say it'd be cool if my IWF circuit got nominated for best promotion, hahaha.
PulsarPosted on 03/17/06 at 03:19:26

I hate everyone alive (Sturing the universal pot)
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/17/06 at 04:16:24

{hugs an unwilling Pulsar then cuts a promo about Doritos and Pulsar eating them constantly}

I am pretty sure that's not a gimmick.

Ray's a little hostile sometimes, but he's always been good to me, so I'm okay with that.
Rick GarrardPosted on 04/05/06 at 02:39:07

dude, it's a gimmick.
Tommy BrownellPosted on 04/12/06 at 08:22:12

I speak to him fairly often...I think he actually has anger issues.
AnubisPosted on 04/12/06 at 10:10:15

Who's Ray?
Rick GarrardPosted on 04/13/06 at 02:47:43

You're kidding about not knowing Ray Wong, right?

He's the one that just out F'd Shane Douglas in another post.
AnubisPosted on 04/13/06 at 03:49:00

Huh?
CrplsPosted on 04/13/06 at 03:50:03

Ray is an enigma.
UnrightPosted on 04/13/06 at 12:25:57

H8 Superstar = Ray Wong

::)
CrplsPosted on 04/14/06 at 07:47:10

You ruined it.
UnrightPosted on 04/14/06 at 08:16:22

Ruining it is the new going along with it
Rick GarrardPosted on 04/15/06 at 00:58:20

that's just unright.
