SAY mah name, baby! Late night time slot! Wait, no

AllPowerfulGARTHPosted on 03/15/06 at 02:12:05

411 is reporting that TNA's Thursday night spot is being moved to something like 11 PM, after the Ultimate Fighter. No primetime spot for them. Though overflow viewers of Ultimate Fighter might still be a good thing. Thoughts? Comments?

And in today's Irony Theater, we see that TNA has just trademarked the name "Prince of Punk," but Shannon Moore has just been snatched up by WWE. You just got punk'd!

Please tell me that WWE is putting Three Count back together!  Then perhaps they can feud with the Spirit Squad.

Is Evan Karagias on the WWE roster?  If so, that would really be something to see Three Count back in action.

And I can't believe that WWE got Shannon Moore.  And I liked his Prince of Punk gimmick, too.  Oh well.  He's off to be "mis-used"/"under-used" (are those words?) with the McMahon's.

WWE needs to sign either Tank Abbott or Evan Karagias and then they can put the "band" back together.  :)

Shannon Moore is as dumb as he looks, signing with WWE like that.

He's going to get more money to job about as much as he was in TNA, if not a little more.  If you're going to be misused, might as well get paid more for it.

The change of timeslot is probably better for TNA. I think given how bad Impact can be at times, its better for them to make a subtle transition like this rather than going from a crappy slot straight to primetime. The lead in from UFC can only help them and certainly works better for the network than having TNA lead in to UFC. If they can pull slightly better nights on in this new time slot, it is certainly less of a gamble for Spike to insert them into a primtime spot.

And really, for most guys in TNA, being in WWE would probably be much more favorable. The only people who really benefit from being in TNA are your Samoa Joe's and Christopher Daniels' of the world, enough so to stick with them. Anyone who is a midcarder at best in TNA is better off going to WWE if they come knocking. And at least in WWE a guy like Shannon Moore can get squashed by guys who are more than just a few inches taller than him.
