Sting's Goodbye?

Psymin1Posted on 01/31/06 at 19:07:32

I missed it on Saturday night, but was able to see the end of the Rhino/Abyss match and the Sting Interview (which is really what I wanted to see anyway). After, what I feel was a sucky ending to the Rhino/Abyss match, I had high hopes that Sting's interview would be the topper; that he would start making challenges to the World Champ, and a huge main event for the next PPV would be set up, that I may just have been inclined to purchase. But, what I got was bad news.

It was an incredible interview, and it looked as if Sting was about to tear up at some points. I loved that man when I was young, and continue to get goosebumps everytime I hear his name or see his picture. And on Saturday night, my hero (as a child, of course) said "Goodbye".

Now, the good fan inside me wants to say I believe it, and I don't think Sting will wrestle another match again. But, the smart mark half of me wants to say that this is FAAAR from over. I believe that Sting is going to be back very soon in TNA and he'll be making a World Title run. Or maybe he and Christian Cage will be making an alliance?

What do you guys think? Did anyone see it? Any thoughts at all??

Haven't seen it, but since Sting (allegedly) signed a 1-year-contract, he probably will return to the ring.

I'm kinda hoping Sting does the unthinkable... and turns heel just to piss off all the folks that wanted him back.

And yes I too was a big Stinger fan... back when he was Sting and not the Crow.  He hasn't really "wrestled" since the day he told the fans to "stick it" on a WCW Nitro telecast.  Well Sting... you too can do what you wanted your fans to do... you can STICK IT!

The "stick it" thing was a work, though, and so is this.  I think Sting truly does "still have it".  The match was pretty damn good.  He doesn't have the energy he once had, but he does still have the skill.

Rick, I was TOTALLY expecting a heel turn during that promo, but, just didn't happen.  I think he should go heel, as it would be fun to watch.

Me too Branden, me too.  It's really something that Sting hasn't done since his days teaming with Rick Steiner as part of Hyatt-Hot Stuff International in Bill Watts' Mid-South.
