Got a quick question...

AnubisPosted on 01/25/06 at 21:42:56

Okay, this is gonna sound totally weird, but here goes.  I know this is the TNM forum and all, but I was wondering, does anyone around here mind or care if I were to discuss my game of TEW2004 here in the wrestling (non-TNM specific) section of the forum?  I would go to their forums, but the people who frequent their forums are about as immature and moronic as the fools over at GameFAQs, and it's quite annoying.  While I may not always get along with you guys, at least you're easy enougyh to discuss things with.

I know this may sound weird, but I don't consider TNM to be in competition with TEW, as they are drastically different games (one is a match sim, the other a promoter sim).

You see, I started out as Ring of Honor with the intention of eventually breaking off to form my own promotion.  I just want to have the satisfaction of making ROH one of the big-time promotions before I go my own way, and I know there are a ton of ROH fans around here, so I thought some people might consider it interesting to know what I'm doing with the promotion.

Anyway, if you guys feel it's be too inappropriate, or if no one is interested in it, then I won't bother posting anything more about it on here, but if anyone's interesting, I'll start my own topic here in the US Independents section of the forum and keep all discussion in that single topic.

A part of me also considers this about the only possible way to gauge how well I can book, basically by taking the progress in-game and the thoughts of anyone who cares to follow my progress.  Most of the factors in TEW can't be controlled once the game begins (not to the extent that you can control things in TNM at least), so it gives a bit of a level playing ground, not to mention competition in the form of the AI-controlled opponents.

So just post and let me know if you're intersted.  I recently started a new game after learning more about how the game works and such, and have currently run most of the June 2005 shows, so it's a fresh start and it would be easy to catch up with what I've been doing.

Post it in "TNM Circuits" with a [TEW] header on the posts.  That's probably the most suitable place for it.

I hear you Anubis.. the TEW fans aren't the brightest of the bunch.. I saw you having a heated discussion about one of my least favorite discussion topics.. steroid use  :P

I was shocked when people started complaining about the Ravex people not doing any updates for a long time.. the guys are doing it for free!! It's not like we're pestering Peter if his updates doesn't come every month..

Do as Rick suggests, it's all about booking and commenting on other people's booking.. it's not like we can know for certain that a person is using TNM.. he could be using his imagination and inventing the results for all we know.

Wow, small world, lol.

Well, I frequent both boards.. just lurking on greydog though. I find it enjoyable to read the dynasties, and then I saw your name on one of the other boards.

Yeah, the T-Zone updaters are crackheads.  For instance, they give Candice Michelle the same brawling ability as Spanky (even though Candice Michelle has no wrestling ability whatsoever), they even give a lot of the divas search winners some wrestling ability (though none of them have any), they are way off on looks for a lot of the women (I mean, seriously, Midajah ain't that freaking hot), they're just way off.  Of course there was also the steroid issue.

Totally insane.  RaveX may overestimate some people, but at least they have the "comparitive" stats pretty close in most cases; T-Zone just goes all over the place.

I considered putting a dynasty on their boards, but the people who frequent that forum seem to be mostly casual fans with little knowledge as to what quality really is.  I may have disagreements with you guys on occasion, but at least I know you guys are "in the know".

That and I got history here, and people around here tend to take things like promotion dynasties a bit more seriously and with more thought.  That's why I wanted to bring mine over here, seeing as we're all wrestling fans at least, and like I said, I don't consider TNM and TEW to be in competition as the sims have two totally different purposes (match sim versus promoter sim).

Alrighty, I'll probably head on over there at some point then and start off with a report of ho June 2005 went.

Actually, after some thought, I'm not so sure I should put my stuff in the TNM Circuits forum.  I don't wanna get in trouble or anything.  I honestly can't figure out where to fit it around here, but I'd rather have the TNM gang watching than those knuckleheads running around the TEW forums.

Hmmm . . . What to do . . . Then again, I have two other TNM7.COM Gods suggesting it, so maybe . . .

Oh hey, just noticed you're a mod over there, Rick.  LOL.  Okay, I guess if a mod says it's okay, then it must be okay.

Off to work on it, then!
