...signs with TNA according to PWInsider.com

What a crazy world. TNA actually got the jump on WWE.

Actually, from the looks of it, he's signed for one PPV match, not to any kind of longterm contract.  It strikes me that this may actually be a negotiating tactic by Joe - essentially saying "Look, these guys are willing to put me on PPV now, but I'm not taking a longterm deal because I'd rather work for you.  Still, I've got to eat, and if you're not going to make an offer I have other options," to WWE.

At least that's how I'm reading the situation.

All the info I've seen on it has said that it is an actual long term contract. But who knows?

Really?  Interesting choice by Joe, then.  Here's hoping TNA pulls out a TV deal so he actually has a chance to do something worthwhile.

at this point, without weekly tv, TNA could air an entire segment of WWE matches without fear of repercussion because at this point, TNA is about as alive as Hogan/Hart's XWF.

What a difference five months makes, eh?

Samoa Joe has become a major player in TNA in a really short time.. anyone else thinks he'll hold the world title before 2007?
AnubisPosted on 11/05/05 at 06:30:09

Agreed.  The man is AWESOME.

WWE is about to counter the Samoa Joe move with the debut of Jimmy Snuka Jr aka Deuce Shade from OVW.
AnubisPosted on 11/07/05 at 06:06:38

Somehow I doubt anyone from OVW can match the raw natural talent of the likes of Samoa Joe, and being the son of a legend doesn't mean much.  Remember David Flair?  I rest my case.
