TNA Gets A TV Deal With Spike

Kevin OKeefePosted on 08/04/05 at 09:41:37

Here is the press release http://www.tnawrestling.com/spiketv/index.html

I went to their webpage, and said YES.  Then I saw it will air on Saturday Nights.

Doh.  They want the 18-35 year olds don't they. How many of them are going to be home on Saturday Nights?!!!!

I hope I'm wrong, but I see a lethal result from being in this time slot, which will mean the end of TNA.

It'll draw maybe Velocity numbers.  It won't doom TNA... no more than having NO tv deal at all has doomed them.

A bad TV deal killed ECW.  If this draws "Velcocity Numbers" it won't be what Spike wants. They will cancel the show, and TNA will fold. - They lost millions (I heard excess of 20 million) so far, no way they continue if this TV deal fails.

No, shitty booking killed ECW.   That, and the fact that Heyman isn't a good businessman.
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/05/05 at 01:47:54

Shitty booking?  I thought it was the fact that every time ECW built a guy up, WCW or WWE hired them under an ironclad contract away from ECW?

WWE/WCW hiring away ECW's guys was a consistent problem, but ECW was able to survive it until they got their TV deal and started pumping out crap.  I mean...Justin Credible as World champion?

Shhh. I kinda liked credible.
