TNA on the internet...

How well do you think TNA will fare showing Impact on their website and then having a PPV each month untill they get a TV deal (if they get a TV deal)?  It seems to me like a lot of fans are going to lose interest in TNA and it might be hard for them to regain viewers if/when they return to cable.

I might actually watch TNA on the internet, since it'll presumably be free and available at my convenience rather than at some ridiculous time.

Sounds like a good idea for the fans who use the internet. I wish the WWE put up RAW and Smackdown! on their website. Perhaps, it could be coupled with their match jukebox service.

Just tried watching this week's episode of Impact.

It didn't work too well.  Apparently it's not streaming video - the file is roughly a 110 MB download... but there's only bandwidth to download it at about 2 kb/s.  Which means it'd take... a really really really long time.  Thus, the show is currently just as unwatchable as it was when it was off the air.  If TNA wants online Impact to be possible, they're going to have to shell out A LOT of money for bandwidth.

It's a shame.  Because I wanted to see Samoa Joe in a funky weird-ass ring.

Hah!

Apparently just as I posted that, they uploaded the file as a Torrent.  Or at least posted a link to a torrent of the file which does not yet exist.

Very clever, actually.  If they do it that way, they can use their customers' bandwidth instead of their own.  Assuming they actually upload the torrent soon.

While I can't access the Torrent myself, I found a mirror of it online in a less than reputable location, so in the past 5 minutes I've downloaded over 3 times what several hours accomplished from the website.

My desire to see a free Samoa Joe squash match will not be denied!

Eric, are we gonna have to have an intervention? :)

But I didn't download anything else! ;D
