Sting & Shane Douglas Sign With NWA-TNA

It was announced after the main event last night on NWA: TNA's PPV that Sting will be wrestling next week in a tag team match with Jeff Jarrett as his partner taking on AJ Styles and someone of his choosing. This will of course be the main event of the show, which will be TNA's one year anniversary show.

AJ Styles captured the NWA championship in the main event of tonight's NWA TNA PPV, defeating former champion Jeff Jarrett and Raven in a Three-Way match when Styles pinned Jarrett. Raven was attacked by Shane Douglas (making his NWA TNA debut) during the bout. Styles captured the belt after interference from Vince Russo.

Looks like TNA grabbed the biggest "name" that's still out there along with Oliver's best friend.  This should definately help them to promote their show to the various cable networks out there, as Sting is a proven draw and all, and Douglas has a cult following among ECWites well.

Any thoughts about this?  Feuds you'd like to see?

Is Douglas still running XPW/being the XPW champ/boinking Lizzy?

Beats the heck out of me.  I don't follow garbage wrestling.  :D  But, to the best of my knowledge, TNA allows its workers to wrestle elsewhere as well.  So it's very possible.

I had heard that Douglas is no longer affiliated with XPW.

Get Shane D*ckless out of there. He can't wrestle shit these days and always have his usual hypocrite comments. He must like the booking he did with them. The crowd dwindle around 100. Hey Shane, how's your worthless bounce check?

Well, if it's any comfort, I seriously doubt that the NWA will give Shane Douglas its World Heavyweight Title again.  He threw it away once, after all. ;)

That raises an interesting issue, though.  How long is the NWA going to be content with its World Title being defended and changing hands almost solely in the TNA territory, and how long is TNA going to be content with a World Heavyweight Title that they don't have 100% control over?

If push came to shove, then it'd be 1993 all over again and frankly the way I see it, the NWA needs TNA more than TNA needs the NWA, same as 93.

If the NWA are smart, they'll see they're better off now than they have been for ten years now that their title has plenty of prestige again, why cry about technicalities?

And as much as I like Shane Douglas, I agree that I don't see him winning the title. Frankly I'm not sure he'd be the best choice anyway, his use now would be to draw more viewers (presumably the ECW faithful) and stick it to David Flair. :P

Does anybody know how to get NWA-TNA is the Dallas area? Does anybody know if it gets covered here?

Trance

If it was like the one time I tried to get it in East Texas, specifically Longview, if you don't have digital cable, you are SOL.  But if you do have Digital cable, you might be able to order it and enjoy the show.

Have fun.
