...Brock Lesnar. What the hell?

Rikidozan is rolling around in his grave

Gaijin with the belt isn't bad, baka gaijin with the belt is.

It'll be fine, I mean at least Lesnar is decent in the ring. I would have prefered Chono to take it or Fujita to retain, but this isn't the worst thing that could happen.

I don't dislike Lesnar per se, I just can't buy him with the IWGP title, especially in his first appearance.  I wasn't really big on his WWE title reign either...

... he's still a baka gaijin. ;) lol

The thing is, NJPW wants to re-establish a "NJPW vs. Foreigners" theme for their upcoming shows. Lesnar is definatly the best foreigner to put the belt on when you consider what the Japanese look for in an American wrestler, size.

Lesnar is physically big, this is the main thing that the average japanese fan looks for in an american wrestler. Lesnar is decent in the ring for someone of his size, so I'd rather have the belt on him than on Matt Morgan or Scott Norton (again) or almost anyone else who might come over during the progression of this story.

Besides I think Lesnar is going to drop the belt to Nakamura in Janurary at NJPW's next Tokyo Dome show.  They also needed to keep Fujita looking strong to keep him as a credible contender, so Chono lost to Lesnar, with the intention of having Lesnar loose to Nakamura.

I don't know if what I am predicting is correct, but they are definatly grooming Nakamura to win the belt sooner rather than later.

I don't think it's all that stupid of a decision. Brock is already over with the NJPW crowd and will probably be a big star if they use him regularly. I'm guessing him getting the title was a big part of the deal to get him too.

Simon Inoki said that Fujita vs Brock at the next Tokyo Dome show (Wrestling World on 1/4) is probably going to happen, so he probably won't be jobbing it to Nakamura.

Then again, knowing NJPW booking, Brock could job it before the end of the year. :)

My only problem with it is it being his first match since Wrestlemania XX.
