Did any of you MMA fans happen to catch that news story about these two meeting on Friday? Meltzer speculated about it. The funniest line from him was that Vince McMahon is clueless about MMA. That could be said for a lot of things Vince McMahon has done lately.

Well...mixing MMA and WWE has been done before. When Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock were in WWE, they were putting UFC over daily. Using Pride could be benefitial to Pride on the American Side, and maybe give legitamacy to various WWE wrestlers (Terkay comes to mind)

It merely means that PRIDE needs help on the PPV side of their product, and WWE is the lesser of a few evils for ease of wider entry into the American PPV market.

Speaking from experience, it's awfully hard dealing with WWE when you've got a strong position of negotiation. I can't even begin to imagine how lowly WWE will treat Pride given their respective places in American culture.
