Theme Music not playing

jamisles02Posted on 12/01/04 at 02:25:05

I loaded my theme songs for each wrestler and tag team, however I can't get them to play. I tried every option in the Audio Options, but none work. I use Windows XP. Can anyone help?

Please go into Options / Audio Options and verify that "Use Internal Player For WAVs; Media Player For Others" is checked and all options below are unchecked.

What happens when you run a card then?

I checked it, but all of my themes are MP3s, not WAVs
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/02/04 at 20:38:11

That doesn't matter since  a new Multimedia Engine debuted a few months ago.

So, what happens when you schedule and run a card with wrestlers that have MP3s assigned?
jamisles02Posted on 12/03/04 at 16:01:01

Some themes play, but some don't. So I'll just with those that don't

Could you please e-mail me a theme that *doesn't* work? Thanks!
jamisles02Posted on 12/04/04 at 19:43:21

What I ment by doesn't work is, that when I try to upload the theme for a wrestler in "Edit Wrestler" the file its in doesn't show.

That's because TNM per se is a DOS program, not a Windows program which means it can only use file names in 8.3 notation.

For true Windows file name support, please use the Theme Music Wizard plugin.

I am having the same problem.  Actually, Oliver, I just emailed you about it, but Im gonna post it here also, hopefully getting the quickest answer possible.

I just copied the music to the THEMES folder in my TNM7 main folder.  I then tried to load a theme song for a wrestler.  When I hit 'play theme' It goes to a blue screen and nothing happens.  But, i tried to do it in a match anyway.  I started the match with that wrestler, and nothing happened.  It said some error comment extremely fast so I couldnt read what it said, then just went on with the entrances, and match.

In my Options<Audio Options, I have 'PLAY THEMES THOUGH PLANY.EXE' checked; 'USE INTERNAL PLAYER FOR THEMES; MEDIA PLAYER FOR OTHERS' checked; and NOTHING BELOW that.  I think this is what you said above to have checked.

Another Note:  I am using TNM7 First Edition *NOT* Second Edition.

One more problem, if I may while I'm here:  When I try to run the Card Statistics program, it never works for me.  I unzipped it into the NEWPLUGS folder, and then installed it in TNM, and I put it at the end of every card I run, in hopes that it will work, But all it ever says is Runtime Error, No Card Statistics.  Any ideas on how to make this Plugin work for me?

Thanks a lot for your time and any answers you give me.

Could you please verify that there is a CARDSTAT folder inside your PLUGINS folder and that it contains a CARDSTAT.EXE file?

Since this is a third-party plugin, there is little further support I can give other than the e-mail address of the author: jonas.dygd@telia.com. It is six years old now, though...

As far as the themes go, in TNM 7 First Edition only WAVs are played internally. For every other music format, an external helper application is needed. In the case of MP3s, it needs to be a WinAmp version from five years ago as the newer ones can't be controlled externally anymore.

I hate to make a cheap product plug but TNM 7 Second Edition goes a lot further in native theme support than First Edition does.

my themes will play before the matches but after the matches it gives me the "program too big to fit memory" thing....

What do I do for that one?
Oliver CoppPosted on 02/06/05 at 14:00:18

When using the TNM7DIAG plugin, how many wrestlers, moves and managers does it report?
k_mungePosted on 02/07/05 at 07:52:14

It keeps stating now that errors are found in my database file and the diagnostic won't completely run but it does say 259 wrestlers, 639 moves, and 102 managers....

BTW, did you see my post about future plugin sales?  Are there going to be any?
Oliver CoppPosted on 02/13/05 at 09:26:14

OK, if it reports errors, please do send me your TNM zipped. I'll see what I can do.

I'll go through the topics again today. Have been out of action for the better part of the last two weeks with a heath scare, although it seems to have gone away so I'll be here more again.
