Four Corners Match not registering in WCW

John ProulxPosted on 01/24/05 at 04:08:40

I recently held the first tag team match in my new circuit, which happened to be a four-corners match for the vacant title. After the match, the Tag Team Rankings in the WCW were all at +0. Just to test, I ran another four-corners match with the same four teams. A different team won, and indeed all the rankings were still at +0. I will continue to research this.

Running a few more test matches, I can now say that NONE of them are registering with the WCW rankings. Likely something is wrong with my circuit.

Likely it's a bug on my end :)

Do you have the latest version of the WCW installed? You can get it at: http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/allplugs.zip

OK, I installed the version of WCW from the Zip file, but that doesn't help -- I ran another tag match while testing the text delay (two bugs for the price of one! 8)), and all the teams are still stuck at +0. Note that WCW does correctly give their W-L record and streak info; just the contenders list is affected.

That's a bigger problem than I thought.

When I released the WCW, I mentioned that the top contender function was primarily useful for singles titles.

I'll be working on it but please don't expect a solution anytime soon.

No worries. I will do my best to help you track it down :) .

The reason I thought it was circuit-related is that my other circuit did not have this problem. At some point when I have time, I'll start a new circuit and see if it has the same problem.

A few things I have noted:

This bug seems to have an interesting method of popping up. It seems the only way to get it to kick in is to run a Four Corners Tag Team title match, Elimination Style. Once you run that match, everything starts to go haywire. Any contender ratings that occur before that remain in place. Also, any regular tag team matches that occur after that WILL show up in the Contender rankings. However, any tag team TITLE matches from that point on do NOT register UNTIL you run a non-title match first. Then, it seems to kick some things back into gear, but not others. I haven't yet determined if the Four Corners match that causes the problem has to be a title match itself or not, but I do know that it does have to be Elimination Style.

Hopefully this will give some clues as to the source of the bug.
