Trouble Installing Build 3 and Weight Class Wizard

hbkid718Posted on 10/07/04 at 07:43:54

I downloaded Build 3 and unzipped it into the programs folder, but then when I install it to the folder, some error comes up and TNM shuts down. What can I do to get it working?

My other problem is with The Weight  Class Wizard. Ever since I downloaded it and registered it, I can't use it. I have the updated version and when I click on it in my circuit folder, nothing happens. What's wrong?

Can you please help me with both my problems? Thanks.
WCWFPosted on 10/07/04 at 14:16:36

The same thing happened to me and it was a error 76 that pops up for only a moment. I am also waiting and answer as to why this is happening.
Oliver CoppPosted on 10/14/04 at 20:42:41

Installing: Build 3 comes as a full installer. Putting it into the PROGRAM folder won't help. I recommend unzipping TNM7SE.EXE somewhere and then running it from the HD.

The Weight Class Wizard is a circuit plugin. To run it, please go into your circuit (via the program's menu), then press "p" and select the Weight Class Wizard.

Sorry for the late reply.
hbkid718Posted on 10/15/04 at 07:04:46

Thanks for replying. I installed Build 3 in a separate folder and it worked fine. But I want to transfer my circuits to the new build. I copied all of the files over into the Build 3 folder, and then ran TNM. But then, it said Build 2 on the bottom, not Build 3. How do I move my circuits, plugins, themes, etc. to the new folder?
Critic of the DawnPosted on 10/15/04 at 08:03:40

Just install Build 3 into the same directory as Build 2 was originally in.  It'll overwrite the program files while leaving your circuits and database intact.

You could probably also make a backup of your Build 2 TMN, move it into the equivalent folder in your Build 3 install, and then restore it.

I did what Critic said and copied Build 3 into Build 2's folder. It overwrote everything, but my circuits were there. TNM started fine, with Build 3 on the bottom, but when I clicked on my circuit, Error 241 came up and then shut down TNM. What can I do to get my TNM working? Please help. Thanks.
Oliver CoppPosted on 10/16/04 at 19:31:57

Please drop me an e-mail. I'll then send you a file that should help you.
hbkid718Posted on 10/16/04 at 19:38:40

I got your e-mail. What is that Intro file for? Does it have anything to do with this problem?
Oliver CoppPosted on 10/16/04 at 20:45:31

Oh, I'm sorry - that was the wrong one. Right one is coming in a minute.
hbkid718Posted on 10/25/04 at 07:11:03

I installed the file Oliver sent me and now when I click on my circuit Error 9 comes up and then TNM shuts down. Everything else works, except for my Circuits. Please help. Thanks.
Oliver CoppPosted on 10/31/04 at 20:34:02

Error 9? Have you run the diagnostics utility? If all fails, please send me your TNM and I'll have it up to speed again in no time :)
hbkid718Posted on 11/06/04 at 07:32:12

I ran the Diagnostic and when it checked my circuits, it said that instead of 0 wrestlers, there are 290 wrestlers in the database. Then a screen came up and said that "290 is too much, so in order to fix it, you have to delete your databases, so anything circuit-specific will be deleted. Is this OK?" I clicked Yes and my circuits opened up, but there weren't any wrestlers in my circuit. My cards, champions lists, etc. were there, but there were no wrestlers listed. I went to the Control Center and there were no wrestlers in the database at all, so I couldn't hire my wrestlers into my circuit. But then I had a back up that I made prior to running my last card. I restored the back up, and everything is back to normal. It's still Build 3, but I got all of wrestlers back. The only thing I had to do was re-run my card, which was no problem. The Visualizer works now, which I'm glad, but there were no intros or results because it says "Program too big to fit to memory". But besides that, everything's working. Thanks, Oliver. You are the best.
Oliver CoppPosted on 11/06/04 at 10:26:41

"Program too big to fit into memory" usually means that you have too many wrestlers, moves and/or managers... you might want to check on that.

Thanks for the kind words.
hbkid718Posted on 11/19/04 at 20:00:18

I ran The Database Cleaner, but the only moves, managers, and wrestlers that are listed are the ones that I use. I can't delete any of them. What can I do? Also, the "program too big to fit to memory" comes up when I click on the Weight Class Wizard, so I can't use it. Please help. I spent all this money on this program and plug-ins, but I'm getting annoyed that it doesn't run smoothly. Thanks.
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/02/04 at 16:34:56

That is perfectly understandable. Like I said, your best bet would be to send me your TNM zipped. I'll then give it a checkup.
hbkid718Posted on 12/07/04 at 05:44:29

I sent my TNM to your e-mail address, copp@hexacon.de, but I got a reply, saying that service was unavailable. Is that the proper address or is there another one? Thanks.
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/07/04 at 15:36:35

Please resend it. copp@hexacon.de is perfect and please CC it to copp@tnm7.com and copp@neunlive.de - just to be sure :)
hbkid718Posted on 12/20/04 at 21:28:14

Oliver, I got your e-mail and installed the program files into TNM. I also did what you said in the Audio Options. I also deleted some moves with the Database Cleaner, but the Weight Wizard still doesn't work. I might be able to delete more moves, but how can I tell which moves are unused and not needed. I don't want to delete moves that my current wrestlers use. How do I go about doing this? Thanks for all your help.
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/20/04 at 22:48:30

Sorry, I was addressing your first problem of you getting "program too big to fit into memory" errors. I'll go looking for the "other" error ASAP :)
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/20/04 at 22:55:00

The Weight Class Wizard works fine on both of your circuits here.

What I do is:

1. I enter a circuit.
2. I press the "p" key and then select "Weight Class Wizard".

What does this do on your end?

Also, the Database Cleaner will *only* report moves that are *not* used by anybody either as a move or as a counter (or as a counter to a move or a dive). Every single move the Database Cleaner reports is a safe bet for being deleted because it isn't used anywhere.

hbkid718Posted on 12/22/04 at 07:43:59

Thanks Oliver. I deleted all of the moves with the Database Cleaner, since I didn't need them. But then, I went into my circuit and did what you said, but when I click on The Weight Class Wizard, program too big for memory still comes up and then TNM shuts down. What wrong? I really want to use this program. Thanks.
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/30/04 at 10:52:42

If the "program too big" error appears in your circuit, it might actually be that your configuration files load too many drivers into lower memory. What OS are you using?
hbkid718Posted on 01/02/05 at 06:46:22

Thanks for responding. I have XP Pro.
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/02/05 at 18:22:07

Your WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder should contain two files called AUTOEXEC.NT and CONFIG.NT. Could you please send them my way? Maybe they'll help identify the problem.
hbkid718Posted on 01/03/05 at 08:29:42

Oliver, I sent you those 2 files. I hope you can fix my problem. Thanks.
hbkid718Posted on 01/04/05 at 05:48:26

I got your e-mail. I opened the config.nt file, but where do I put the emm=RAM. Also, before I attempt to do this, I downloaded the updated Weight Class Wizard and it still didn't work. Where do I put "emm=RAM? I hope this helps. Thanks for everything.
hbkid718Posted on 01/05/05 at 08:10:30

Nevermind, everything's working again. I was going through my computer, looking at my files to delete, and saw I had an extra TNM in my C folder. It was an empty one with no circuits. I think I installed TNM there and had trouble copying my circuits to it. Anyway, I ran it, created a new circuit, and clicked on the Weight Class Wizard. The program starts up and works perfectly. So, I copied my TNM from my folder to the C folder. All of my circuits were there and the Weight Class Wizard worked for both of them. The only problem is one of my circuits, Brock Lesnar is listed many times. I tried deleting the names using the Ratings Editor, but it didn't work. The names still appeared. But besides this problem, everything is working fine. I'll see if the themes play, with the intros, after I get my themes off of my cds and run the next card. Thanks for all of your help with everything. You are the best. I'm sorry if I cost you all of this time and effort to fix this problem, when it was a simple moving of a folder.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 01/05/05 at 16:03:12

Brock Lesnar is listed many times?  From the sound of it, you might have gotten your CircDB.dat (I think) file corrupted somehow.  If you write down who is under contract to you, whether they are face or heel, and how much they're being pushed, you can probably delete the file so TNM will automatically create a new one, but you'd have to manually put things back to the way they were before.

Best to wait for Oliver to confirm that before trying it, though.  I haven't had that sort of problem in a long time, so I could possibly be wrong.

As I wrote in my e-mail, you need to open CONFIG.NT (in your Windows\System32 folder) with Notepad and then add the line

emm=RAM

to the end.
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/06/05 at 16:09:47

You probably shot your circuit wrestler database in copying stuff over from one TNM to the other (which I never, ever would recommend!).

If you delete the file CIRCDB.DAT in the circuit with the multiple Brocks, you should be fine.
hbkid718Posted on 01/06/05 at 18:54:48

By deleting the circuitdb.dat, will I lose everything in that circuit, like Critic said, or will everything be fine?
Critic of the DawnPosted on 01/06/05 at 20:26:34

Circdb.dat is the file which contains all the circuit specific stuff that differentiates your circuit's wrestlers from the default. This includes hired/not hired/unavailable status and the remaining times, Face/Heel alignment, Push, Managers, Heat, etc. When you delete the file, TNM will generate a new one, and all the old information along these lines will be lost. I'd advise writing it down so you can rebuild your roster quickly and accurately. I'm 99% certain that this is the case.

EDIT: Your title histories and your past cards, on the other hand, should be unaffected, as should your rankings once you get everyone re-hired.

Eric "Critic of the Dawn"
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/08/05 at 14:14:31

Eric is 100% correct. All that is "lost" is contracts, adjusted pushes and/or specifically assigned managers.

TNM automatically rebuilds this file if it is missing.
