Database Cleaner Bug

triad4evrPosted on 12/20/04 at 09:27:30

Found another one. I noticed that stable and tag-team databases don't seem to be updating correctly in Database Cleaner. It lists teams that are, in fact, in one or another circuit in the unused list which leads to some confusion. I even had a team get imported through the Mystery Wrestler option, so I imported the team from database to that circuit, and they are still showing up in the list to be deleted by the Database Cleaner.

Interestingly, I've seen this happen with the ratings editor plugin as well - running it and selecting the "remove obsolete" option in NDW ended up wiping out all but about 3 tag teams from my tag team ratings.  Since my titles had just vacated due to some unfortunate events, I chose to simply reset the ratings, but it's still something that should be noted.

The Database Cleaner doesn't report unused teams but all teams. Its purpose in this case is to offer a quick and easy way of deleting multiple teams.

Eric - is there anything specific about the circuit you could tell me?

There really isn't much to tell.  It had been running for 55-ish cards at the time, I had removed obsolete tag teams from the ratings in the process of cleaning up the ratings (in other words, taking pairs that teamed once for storyline purposes but weren't actual registered tag teams) successfully several times before.

I ran the cleaner, told it to remove obsolete tag teams, and it consequently removed about 20, leaving only 2 or 3 tag teams untouched.  Very odd.  After it happened, I shrugged, reset all of my rankings, and resolved not to do that again just in case.

I had a similar experience- it asked me if I wanted to delete obsolete teams and while a had a few that were obsolete, either due to a Lethal Lottery type tournament or due to team members leaving, the number was _way_ bigger than I expected so I didn't let it do that.
