Program to Big To Fit in Memory? Problem (Help Me)

hbkid718Posted on 02/09/04 at 21:23:29

I was running my circuit and the matches run fine, but I'm having trouble with the intros and results. The intro starts: "The following contest is scheduled for one fall" and then when it supposed to start the intro, it says "program to big to fit in memory". Then it goes straight into the match. After the match, "program to big.....memory" comes up again, when the results is supposed to come up and then goes right into the next match, and then same thing happens. I have the Visualizer installed, with all my wrestlers assign to images, and I also have themes for my wrestlers. I have WinAmp installed and I found it for TNM in the Audio Options. What's wrong? After finally get back to business with TNM, I come across another problem. It's not a big problem, but it's still pain. Please help. Thanks.

This is an issue dealing with too little conventional memory - or too many wrestlers/moves/managers.

Please use the diagnostics utility. How many of each does it report?

Sorry it took long to respond. I thought I had the problem fixed, but then it started it again. I thought by installing the new build, my problem will be fixed, but it hasn't. I ran the TNM7DIAG and this is what it says:

TNM.INF found and complete.
INF file indicates 221 wrestlers, 1352 moves and 175 managers.
Checking tag team file...
Tag team file ok. Number of teams found: 391
Dives found in database: 108
Wrestlers found in database: 221
Moves found in database: 1352
Managers found in database: 175

Main data files appear to be perfectly ok.

Checking circuits.
2 circuits found.

Press any key to commence to Step 3: Checking The Circuits.

Checking DZW Circuit.
Circuit is ok.

And then it shuts down. It doesn't check my other circuit, the WCWF. What's wrong. Please help me get rid of this annoyance. I have yet to see the Visualiser in action.  Thanks.

From the looks of that, your problem is most likely in the number of moves you have.  I've had well over 1,000 wrestlers in the past and still had only about half of the moves that you now have.  Therefore, it may help you to clean out your moves database - I think there's a Database Cleaner plugin for that exact purpose.

As Eric suggested, the Database Cleaner plugin is the right way to go. Just have it delete unused entries from your move database and you should be fine.

Also, something's weird if you have almost double the tag teams that you have wrestlers. Just my opinion
Oliver CoppPosted on 06/06/04 at 14:35:50

Yeah, but that shouldn't be the reason. Wouldn't hurt bringing them down a notch, though :)
hbkid718Posted on 08/04/04 at 06:04:23

I sorry I took so long to respond. I used the Database Cleaner and deleted moves, tag teams, and wrestlers I don't use or intend to use. Then I ran TNM and it still came up with too big for memory. I then disabled the TNM Visualizer and disabled intros. Once I did that, it finally worked. I then enabled the intros and it still worked. So I think there's something wrong with the Visualizer. Can you help? It's no big deal if I can't get it to work. I'm happy that TNM is working as it is.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/20/04 at 14:36:56

The Visualizer as an application runs side-by-side with TNM. It is launched before TNM is by the batch file, hence turning the Visualizer off doesn't make TNM itself behave differently at all.

Are you running on XP or Win2000?

If so, this might help:

I did what you said in the Error 7 FAQ and here's what my computer said:

Have you tried what I gave you a link to?

It's hard for me to give you advice when the program isn't showing consistent behaviour on your machine. I had the same thing once, fiddled around with my AUTOEXEC.NT and things were fine.

There was no logical reason for the Visualizer to make a difference because whether it's there or not doesn't concern TNM in the least. It operates the exact same, runs the same statements in the same order, regardless of the Visualizer being there or not.
HuDannyPosted on 12/02/04 at 07:40:04

I too have the same problem. It only occurs after a match. I have limited all my themes to 30 seconds thinking they were too big because it says program too big to fit in memory. Very Frusturating! I only have 85 wrestlers, 478 moves, and 11 managers in one circuit. Compared to over a thousand moves from hbkid it seems like nothing and the problem still occurs. Is there any simple problem to this or is it just a glitch? Or am i doing something wrong, I dont understand. Any help would be appreciated.
Oliver CoppPosted on 12/02/04 at 16:46:44

You are definitely not doing *anything* wrong. Neither is TNM. This is an odd error which happens on some machines using some versions of the Media Player... and it isn't limited to TNM as is shown by the numerous reports of this on MSDN.
jamisles02Posted on 12/03/04 at 00:12:24

I also started to have this problem since I uploaded the ThemeMusic Wizard. Only after it says "File to big," TNM shuts down.
