Serious Problem

MATPosted on 10/31/04 at 15:22:44

Hey there. This morning I ran a card with TNM, and noticed that for some reason managers who were also wrestlers in the match started appearing again, which 3.0 had fixed for me. After this I tried running another card, but this time all I got was...

Now the managers thing isnt that serious, but the other is, as it's affected all my circuits. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any luck so far?

If not, please ZIP up your TNM 7 SE folder and send it my way.

Thanks,

Oliver

I dont know about luck, but on one circuit I've started getting a Error 11 at pgm-ctr: 161293 when I try and run a match (just to be clear it does the intros, but crashes after that)

Please do send me your TNM 7 SE folder zipped with all subfolders.

Thanks,

Oliver

Hi there Oliver, I just downloaded the installation file and did a reinstall to my TNM7 folder and that seems to have fixed the crashing, but the wrestlers are still appearing as managers even if they're in the match. However that is a minor issue and I'll continue to play around, I'm just happy to be able to run matches again. Cheers for the quick responses though, much appreciated.

The error you got is a direct result of having too many wrestlers (1.875!!), moves (783) and managers (245!!).

The recommended max is 900 wrestlers and as few moves and managers as possible. The Database Cleaner could help here.

Please give me a match constellation where the manager error you mentioned happens.

Thanks a lot!

I used to have 2000 moves, that caused alot of trouble (thank God for the Special Move Wizard and Database Cleaner lol)

Anyways, for the manager problem I'll use this an example: In my New Japan circuit I have a stable with Gedo, Jado and Katsushi Takemura. Now I'll have Gedo with Jado and Takemura as managers,
Jado with Gedo and Takemura as managers,
and Takemura with Gedo and Jado as managers.

Now I can use any combination of the three and there will be one manager in a tag match, i.e. Jado and Gedo will only have Takemura come out, Takemura and Gedo will only have Jado come out etc. But as soon as I have a six man, I'll have two of them come out as managers. Hope thats clear enough. (This was solved when I first installed Build 3, but it's recently come back)

OK, I'll check that out. Thank you very much!

I thought about what you said and went into my database and deleted 200 wrestlers (not easy as I have to do them one by one or else TNM crashes and stops working). This didnt solve anything however. Also I've started to notice that if I rename a wrestler in a circuit, his orignal name in the database will appear in the results (not a major issue thanks to Circuit Editor) would this likely to be linked to the other problem?

Absolutely. That TNM of yours is severely out of whack as a result of having had too many wrestlers. I'd recommend running TNM7DIAG and if that doesn't help, a solution would be deleting all CIRCDB.DAT files in your circuits. However, that *would* kill your circuit-specific settings in the wrestler database (name changes, contracts, pushes, managers).

It's a bad situation because I really can't help you with this... all I could do myself is reset your circuit databases to make sure things run smoothly from that point forward..

BTW, your problem may persist due to having too many moves. Please run the Database Cleaner and have it get rid of currently unused moves...

And if you want to be 100% sure, make a backup before you do because your TNM is positively freaky... and that's not a good thing ;)
