Odd but not critical bug

Critic of the DawnPosted on 11/04/04 at 20:17:28

Ever since a surprise power outage took my computer down while I was just finishing a card (specifically, I was recording the post-card comments when things went down - I really should have a battery, but the one I originally had never worked.) I've been having a peculiar problem.

Specifically, no matter what I write as card feedback, I end up with the following text in the card results of my latest card:

Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
Tune in to find out!
This has happened twice now. More interestingly, after finishing Week 56, the text intended as Week 56's post-card analysis appeared in Week 55's results. Week 55 was where the problem originally happened. The screwed up message ended up in week 56, with what I originally typed for Week 55 seemingly gone.

I'm not sure if this happens in other circuits, but I don't see why it would. It's impossible to correct this with Circuit Editor SE, and the Diagnostic Utility detects no problems.

Luckily, the raw text is still saved in CARDC1.TXT, so it's not like I'm irrevocably losing what I write. It's easy enough to copy and paste from there instead of the HTML tree when posting my results online. Still, it'd be nice if you could give me a hand in straightening this out. I suspect it's something pretty simple to correct - a certain flag pointing to the wrong place because of the power loss in the midst of writing Week 55's comments.

Anyway, thanks a lot.

Eric, your circuit got corrupted by the power outage. Please send me your TNM zipped and I'll fix it for you.

That's about what I figured was the problem.  I'll send it right out - it might be via YouSendIt if the zip file is sufficiently large.

It looks like my regular email account could handle it.  My TNM is incoming.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like the file didn't reach you after all.  I'll send it via YouSendIt, then.

I'll grab it off there tomorrow morning. Thanks!

BTW, I'll return the circuit only meaning you can safely use all other circuits in the meantime as long as you don't use the ControlCenter to change your databases.

Sounds fine to me.  The circuit is the only thing that's having problems, after all.

I'll hold off on adding any new wrestlers or removing any until I hear from you, then.  Thanks!
