What happens to bounced e-mail?

lw4cPosted on 09/26/04 at 00:45:49

Hi!

Can you please tell me what happens if my e-mail didn't work when a regular message of yours came by?

Does your program ignore bounced messages or does it automatically remove dead addresses from your database to do some house cleaning and save you some bandwidth next time?

Thanks!

I usually ignore bounced messages for exactly that reason.

It's only after ten successive messages bounce that I inactivate an account.

"inactivate" as in completly deleting the dead address and only keeping the codes if someone later asks for them (while providing correct info, of course)?

"Inactivate" as in not sending update e-mails anymore.

So basically, you just never delete our latest addresses (only the old ones, which we traded for them, get absolutely deleted)?

Yes.
