Big problems with TNM

FrankieLoPosted on 08/10/04 at 05:00:48

I think I lost something with my TNM, I can't use plug ins or save a backup of my leagues.  I don't know if I lost something or got a virus but when this happens something appears very quicky on my screen some data.something.

Oliver can probably help you when he gets back from his business trip, but you're going to have to give him a bit more information first.  Specifically, what exactly does the error message say?  (It should probably be something like "error? at pgm-ctr:?????" with the question marks replaced by numbers)  If possible, write it down so you can post it here.  If TNM's window is closing before you can read it, try running the program through the command prompt.

Have you tried downloading and running the diagnostic utility?  Or won't it let you?

Finally, how many wrestlers and moves do you have?

One of the things pop up and say:

Invalid data - ACTIONS.DEF

Were would I go to find out how many wrestlers & moves I have?

And I did DL the diagnostic utility and I was able to run it, but everything came up clean.

WHen I try to make a back-up this is what happens:

Bad Command or file name
Emergency! Backup can't be found

Does the error occur within TNM, or as a Windows popup?  If it's the former, it's probably an error in the game.  If it's the latter, it's probably Windows misbehaving.

It didn't give you an error number or anything?  Odd.

When the diagnostic utility runs, it should show you how many moves, wrestlers, tag teams, etc you have in your database before it starts checking circuits.  One of the most common errors in the program is caused by having too many of them, but what you're describing so far doesn't sound like it.  Still, checking can't hurt.  Chances are I can't offer much help beyond this general stuff - Oliver's the one who knows the inner workings of the game and he's away on a business trip.  I just play the game and help out here if I can.

Frankie - it would be best if you put your TNM7SE folder into a ZIP file and sent it to copp@hexacon.de. If it works on my system, it's something with your system. Maybe it'll give me some pointers on how to help you.

Thanks to Eric as well for helping out!
