Strict Pushes Question

DarkAndEvilBastardPosted on 04/08/04 at 16:07:20

If my fed is set for Strict pushes...how likely/possible should it be fore a wrestler with Push 75 to beat a Push 100 wrestler in an unbooked match?

Possible, but not very likely.  A lot has to do with what moves each wrestler has, their stamina, whether anyone interferes, etc.

Strict pushes makes it much more likely that more pushed workers will come out on top than if it isn't turned on, but you'll still see an occasional upset from time to time.

Hm.

I had it happen twice, though only one made it into the final card...I "continued" the other one, as I didn't wanna see Tajiri holding the World title...=P

Like I said, it's less likely with Strict Pushes on.  The guy with the higher push will have a higher chance of kicking out of pin attempts and escaping submissions.

From what I recall, one of the older exports of Tajiri is an absolute beast, though, and just seems to have a moveset which results in him winning most of the unbooked matches he's placed in.  If he's finishing people with the Dragon Suplex, it's the same one.

Basically, from my experience, here's the effect of push.

W/Out strict pushes on:
Higher push means more damage from moves
Lower push means matches tend to have lower star rankings.
Possibly an effect on the amount of heat a wrestler will get during a match.
Wrestlers with a higher push have more energy to be depleted.

With strict pushes:
Higher pushed wrestlers will have a tendency to kick out of pinfall attempts and escape submissions of less pushed foes more often.

That's all that's coming to me off the top of my head.  There might or might not be more to it.  I'm sure Oliver will be able to offer more insight when he gets back from whatever he's doing.

A 100 and a 75 isn't *that* big a difference. In TNM-speak, 100 would be Triple H and 75 would be Shelton Benjamin. Not entirely unfathomable that he'd beat Triple H twice :)

Nah, this Tajiri uses the Buzzsaw Kick.

The real shocker was Charlie Haas beating Sting, since Sting is Push 100, plus I have him no-selling and hulking up.

Just kinda puzzled me since this is the first time since I started using proper pushes (as opposed to default export pushes) for a Strict Pushes fed and got such dramatic results.  In literally every other instance, wrestlers have not lost unbooked matches to opponents whose push is more than five less than them.

If you run a search for "push" or "pushes" in the thred title, there are some older threads in which this is explained pretty in-depth.

I also have a strict pushes question. If I had two guys with a push of say 70 would it be more likely that they would have a draw, or would it cancel out the strict pushes option.

A draw would not be likely, and it would look into the many other things that make up whether a man wins or loses, such as Moves, Stamina etc.

Carlzilla - different push values influence who wins how often. They do not influence whether or not a match ends in a decision or in a draw.
