Major Problems And Errors

Well I downloaded the trial and was setting it up today. I had created my circuit and about 15 wrestlers. I downloaded the "All Wrestlers Export File" from the TNM page, and oh boy.....

I now get Error 9 at PGM-CTR: 78720 whenever I try to go into the Control Center and

I now get Error 208 at PGM-CTR: 175328 whenever I try to enter my circuit.

Neither one works now. I ran the diagnostics and got a huge listing of corrupted files, and the diagnostics program gives me an error message (error 9) when I choose to repair the database.

Where do we go from here??????

Have you read what next to the link of the all-wrestlers file?
mike2731Posted on 03/29/04 at 16:20:29

Do you mean "Contains all wrestlers in TNM7 Build 6 plus all subsequent updates by Rob, Jose, Oliver, and the Christmas 2001 update."

Not sure what I should be seeing, if this is stupid, I apologize, but I don't know what you're getting at. And it doesn't help me fix my problem.

If you imported EVERY wrestler, you killed your TNM. What he's getting at is there is a safe-limit to TNM7, I believe about 900 wrestlers. If you brought ALL wrestlers in, I think it's about 1500 in that file. I could be wrong on the numbers, but that's what's being suggested.

That would have been nice to know before I downloaded the file. Why is the file available if it overloads the program? Did it mention this somewhere that I missed, or need I be clairvoyant.

Really, why is that particular file available if it does this? I'm sorry, but that doesn't make much sense to me. In fact, it doesn't make any sense.

Is there any way this can be repaired, or do I have to uninstall the program and reinstall, and start everything over.

Boy, I'm glad I was only using the trial. I'm not too sure I'll be purchasing this now, which is a little disappointing.

Would still like to know if there is a fix though.

Thanks.

Actually, I believe it's in the manual that you should not go over X amount of wrestlers. Also, it says right next to the download to use at your own discreation.

Also, why would you use EVERY wrestler in the world. Have you ever heard of half your current roster? I mean, it's kind of common sense that you will never use all those wrestlers.
mike2731Posted on 03/30/04 at 07:40:56

There is nothing next to the file stating to "use at your own discretion". Nor does it say how many wrestlers are even included in the export file, so even if I knew that the game had a limit, I would not have known the file would exceed it. It wasn't a matter of "common sense" in knowing I wouldn't need half of the wrestlers, it was merely a new user trying to import wrestlers into the program to use.

I downoladed it right off of the download links on the www.tnm7.com sight, under the Export Files section, and nothing is mentioned anywhere about it being too large to use. All it says is "Contains all wrestlers in TNM7 Build 6 plus all subsequent updates by Rob, Jose, Oliver, and the Christmas 2001 update."

I just don't see where I was so stupid in doing this, as there was nothing that forewarned me of any difficulties.

That aside, can anyone actually HELP with this problem in any way? It would be greatly appreciated...

OK, I now see why you all think I'm so stupid. I do see the warnings when you click on the Wrestler Export Files on the right side tool bar, BUT,...

If you click on "Downloads" on the left hand menu, and scroll down to toward the bottom under the "Export Files" section, you see the "All wrestlers export file as of Feb 2003". This is what I downloaded, and the disclaimer is NOT on this page. I hope this clears up the confusion. Again, there is no warning here! See for yourself...

I guess you have to uninstall the program and try again, this time with fewer exports. I have never experienced an overload, even though I have on one occasion downloaded all wrestlers. And you're not stupid, the "warning sign" doesn't tell you that it will crash your circuit, it merely tells you that it isn't a good idea, and that may be for hundred different reasons. Maybe it'll take a while to download all exports (it doesn't, but how would a new user know), maybe it gets confusing with 1,500 exports (it does). Anyways, try to uninstall it.

Anyone have any idea when Oliver might be back?

Oliver CoppPosted on 04/09/04 at 10:14:31

Hi Mike,

sorry for the delay in responding to your message. I'll be here constantly for the coming six months so it shouldn't happen again for the time being.

It would be best if you zipped up your entire TNM 7 SE folder and sent it my way. I'll gladly get it back in working order for you.
