constant tag team errors

EAGLESHEADPosted on 04/03/04 at 02:48:11

This happens quite frequently.  TNM seems to get confused as to who should be legal in a tag team match.  This happens mainly when a partner enters the ring to double team the opponent.  After the series is over, the partner stays in the ring as the legal man, even though there was no tag!  One time, the opponent who was getting double team seemed to magically change into his partner, with no reference to a tag or said partner entering the ring to help.  The next time this happens, I'll copy the match text to provide an example.

Thanks

I've noticed that too, but I've given Oliver the benefit of the doubt in this because it seems to happen a lot in WWE, especially with heel tag teams.  So it strikes me that there's a good chance that this was either intentionally put in or a bug of sorts that Oliver decided was more realistic than everybody sticking to the rules all the time and therefore never fixed.  Because I recall it being around for quite a while.

I truly don't think it's an error.  In fact I have used it to my advantage and built rematches around it quite a bit in BCW.

From a posting to the TNM Discussion List (tnmlist-subscribe@topica.com):

Hi Josh,

the first one is a bug indeed.

It triggers on the following conditions:

- a match with more than one person per team
- a tag
- the attempt of a two-part tag team move (e.g. discus punch ->
 superkick)
- a counter during the first part of the double team
- a counter which is a pinfall or a submission move

So far, I haven't really pursued fixing this, though, since it does
make for interesting storylines :o). "The ref screwed me" :-)

Thanks,

Oliver
