OLIVER: Royal Rumble tweaks?

Fighter_HayabusaPosted on 11/03/03 at 19:24:48

Oliver,

Have you maybe tweaked Royal Rumble matches so eliminations happen faster?  I'm wondering because I just held a Junior Heavyweight pinfall/submission only Rumble match, and here's how it went down:

Shannon Moore won a 12-man Royal Rumble:
x Tajiri and Lynn started out.
x Tajiri defeated Lynn after the Buzzsaw Kick in 0:00:19
x Jamie Noble entered at 0:02:00
x Noble defeated Tajiri after the Fujiwara Armbar in 0:02:30
x Jushin Liger entered at 0:04:00
x Noble defeated Liger after an armbar submission in 0:04:16
x Kid Kash entered at 0:06:00
x Noble defeated Kash after the Fujiwara Armbar in 0:07:08
x Jeff Hardy entered at 0:08:00
x J. Hardy defeated Noble after the Swanton Bomb in 0:08:35
x Naomichi Marufuji entered at 0:10:00
        x J. Hardy defeated N. Marufuji after a rana in 0:10:12
        x Spanky entered at 0:12:00
x Spanky defeated J. Hardy after the Sliced Bread #2 in 0:12:30
x Ultimo Dragon entered at 0:14:00
x U. Dragon defeated Spanky after a German suplex in 0:14:18
x Rey Misterio entered at 0:16:00
x Misterio defeated U. Dragon after a power bomb in 0:16
x Shannon Moore entered at 0:18:00
x S. Moore defeated Misterio after the Halo in 0:18:28
x Dean Malenko entered at 0:20:00
        x S. Moore defeated D. Malenko after a rana in 0:21:15
Rating: ***
(Shannon Moore won the World Junior Heavyweight Championship.)

Most of the eliminations were under 30 seconds, and the losgest time anyone stayed in the match was 1:15.  What the hell?

Actually, I didn't really tweak much although this may be a side effect of matches with MANY wrestlers being cut down a bit time-wise.

Would it help if I made it an option for you to turn on or off?

Just going to pop my head in and comment on things somewhat related.  While I was running the four week trial period, I noticed that a lot of American wrestler matches were shorter, and a lot of the Japanese matches were longer.  Dunno why, but it was odd.  There were also a LOT of pinfalls via the figure four.  The pinfall vs. submission ratio of the figure four was about one submission in every ten matches that the FF was the winning hold.  The other ten were pinfalls.  It was pretty weird.

Please!  The match I ran sucked.

Thanks, Oliver, as always!

I'll have a patch ready in a few days. Sorry for the delay!

BTW, the multi-plugin pack is almost ready to go :-)

Still waiting patiently.  Will this also affect Elimination Chamber matches?  I recently ran one and it was more like a gauntlet match.   ;D

Ouch! How long a few days can be. Will get right to it NOW!

By the way, the Elimination Chamber is even being EXTENDED, not cut short...

Here's the file. Unzip it in your PROGRAM folder. http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/prog0104.zip

Be sure to add the line

IgnoreBattleRoyals=1

to TNM.CNF in your circuit folder (not in the main folder!).

Worth the wait, just wanted to remind you.  Thanks as always for being TNM's one-man support staff!

This is probably odd, but I can't find a TNM.CRV file in my entire TNM folder. Could it be called something else? I assume TNM probably wouldn't run right if it were not there.
