Two (Hopefully) Quick Issues

Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 10/16/03 at 21:09:09

Hey Oliver.  I have two quick questions for you.

1)  When I try to edit or create a gimmick match, I get an Error 2.  I know someone else recently had this problem on the SE Open Beta group, but I was unable to download the file required to fix it.  Mind posting a link to it?

2)  It seems like submission moves that can possibly lead to a pin attempt on either the wrestler applying the move or the one taking the move presently have a 100% successful pin rate (though the frequency of attempts can be altered normally through TweakCirc).  I've observed this over the past month or so, and have yet to see anyone kick out.  You might want to check any code changes you made to that if you have the time.  If not, I can always compensate by drastically reducing the frequency of attempts.  And if I'm wrong about this, I apologise for wasting your time.  Zach Gowen just keeps pinning people with the figure-four leglock on his first attempt while they have large percentages of their health intact, and it isn't even a Finisher-Like move.  So something at least seems to be wrong.

Thanks.

I noticed hoe much people get pinned with the figure 4, so I just turned off the attribute, since I've NEVER seen anyone pinned with the figure 4.  They do a two-count for drama, but never a pin.

My second point: how the hell can Zach Gowan do a figure 4?????

Try http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/ccenter.zip for the fix to 1.

Zach Gowen has done the figure four on the indy scene by using an arm as a substitute for a leg.

As for the pins in submissions - thank you, I'll check that out!

Maybe it's just me being a horrid, horrid person, but I've found myself referring to it as the Figure 3 Leglock since he wins with it so much.  As for why Zach is doing it, I'm actually using the old TNMUK Tenacious Z export as opposed to the new official one.  Because Gowen entered WWE before the roster update was completed, and I'd rather not lose all the stuff he's already done.

Thank you kindly.

Not a problem.  Always glad to help - especially when it'll probably lead to an even more unnervingly realistic game for me.  ;)

D'oh!  Looks like that file apparently didn't correct the problem.  I unzipped it into my program directory and replaced the older copy with it, but I still get an Error 2 at pgm-ctr: 35174 while trying to create or edit a gimmick match.

Please verify that your CCENTER.PBC file is 327.989 bytes long and is daten 10/14/2003.

I just tried the same and ended up with no error in sight...
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 10/19/03 at 20:08:39

Triple checking - I re-downloaded after it didn't work the first time, and it still gave me the same error because I figured I might have put it in the wrong place.

Aaaaand...

Ccenter.pbc

So yeah.  It's the correct file.

I'm going to check one more time to be sure that running a card didn't reset things or something...

Error 2 at pgm-ctr:  35174
Nope.  Still not working.

That's very odd. Could you please e-mail me your TNM 7 SE folder zipped? If it persists on my end, I can rearrange the code until it doesn't trigger on your copy anymore.

I had this error before as well but rearraged the code somewhat and it disappeared. The programming language is choking on the size of the program... :/
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 10/26/03 at 17:54:15

I'll send it in a moment once I re-locate your email address.

I'm going to have to take out the images and old export files, however, as it's 136 meg with them and there's no way I can send that.  So you won't be getting my TNM in the exact condition it's in.

Is it possible that loading on images could tax the resources of TNM to the point that this error would appear?

...And...

None of my email servers will allow me to send it. Of course. It's too big for hotmail, my regular account is presently unable to send any email, and my web-based University email doesn't feel like uploading the file from my computer to attatch it.

So no, I can't send you my copy at this time. Sorry.

Any luck in finding the submission pinfall problem, by the way? Or are you trying to handle the small stuff before going code diving? ;)

Oliver CoppPosted on 10/26/03 at 21:33:47

Actually, I'm working on several fronts at once. The submission thing is something that I have so far been unable to reproduce on any of the 45 TNMs on this system. However, there is a theoretical possibility and since it happened to you, there has to be a way to get it to happen.

Understood re: file size.

I'll just send you a few versions of CCENTER.PBC for you to try out.
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 10/27/03 at 06:51:11

Sounds like a plan.  I look forward to getting them.  Not that I make gimmick matches much, but it's nice to have the option.

Would giving you the tweakcirc settings of the circuits I've observed the problems in help at all?  Maybe the TNM.cnf files?
