SPOT PROB/DQ PROB?
Fighter_Hayabusa | Posted on 09/30/03 at 17:42:40 Under "DQ Options," I thought the number next to these options meant the lower the number, the less likely the event would occur. But now I'm not so sure. I had tripping's DQ Prob set to 5, but the first time it happened, there was a DQ. So which is it? And, again, where on the site is the manual? It used to be there in PDF format, but now I can't seem to find it. Thanks FH |
kic | Posted on 10/02/03 at 09:05:47 From the manual (tnm7se.doc in tnm's root directory): 50 is the TNM default, 100 means: half as likely to happen, 25 means: twice as likely to happen. I know I'm always getting it backwards, so I understand your confusion. On a somewhat related note, do you know how to select "check" in one of the match options settings screen? The highlighted letter only selects apply, and that does me no good if I can't change it from "uncheck" to "check". |

That would be easier to manage compared to the system you explained, which is sort of vague. :( Wow, you're right about the "match options" thing. No idea, sorry. I never noticed that because I use a mouse instead of hotkeys. Is there any reason you can't use a mouse? FH |
Carlzilla | Posted on 10/02/03 at 21:29:33 it's probability not percentages... 1 chance out of 100 is half as likely as 1 chance out of 50, and 1 chance out of 25 is twice as likely to happen as 1 chance out of 50. |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 10/03/03 at 09:47:19 That one screen can only be driven sensibly using the mouse, sorry... As Carl said, it IS about probabilities, not percentages. Why didn't I go for percentages? That one is easy. TNM determines whether or not a DQ is to happen in a non-linear way meaning that at any given point, the likeliness of a DQ is a result of multiple variables that are derived from the match and the context. At some points, the standard computation will give you a 20 percent chance of a DQ, sometimes it'll give you an 80 percent chance - depending on the context. Hence, it isn't possible to directly supply percentages via TweakCirc. What you can do, though, is influence TNM's computation - and that's why probabilities are the way to go. |
