Error!

DominusPosted on 08/12/03 at 07:52:25

I was running a card, and Ultimate Warrior was being introduced, so I decided I wanted to listen to his music a little while, why I chatted with someone on MSN.  So I pressed the "Windows Button" and the screen went all wonky & I had to reset my PC.  When I went back to restart the match I got this error:

Error 62 at pgm-ctr: 135642

That's because the match wasn't "ready" to be run by the time your computer crashed/hung. You'll have to restart the card. It's unfortunate but sometimes when a PC crashes, things can't return to a stable state by themselves.

Restarting the card tells TNM to reorganize.

Oliver I think this error screwed up my Ratings!  See I was just looking at Demolition's record and notice that they've only lost once.  Well I wanted to see who it was too, but I couldn't find any record of it.  And then I remembered when I ran the card before Windows and everything crashed.  My first match was between Demolition and Strike Force.  Well Strike Force won that match.  But since I couldn't resume my card I had to restart it.  Well it seems as though TNM used that match to effect the ratings.  There are probably a bunch of other wrestler's ratings that are screwed up too.  Is there any way I can fix this or if I zip up my folder and e-mail it to you you can fix it?
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/13/03 at 11:34:27

Sorry but this isn't a problem caused by TNM or a bug in TNM. Yes, the matches that had already run affected your ratings. And due to your crash in the middle of setting up a match, TNM couldn't continue the card.

I can't and won't edit your ratings. All I can do is if you send me your circuit folder zipped to send you instructions back on how to resume your card at the right match after restarting it.

Umm but I already redid the card over and everything.  It's ok I can live with it.  I'll just make sure I remember what happened and who won/lost what.

Hey what would of happened if a wrestler was injured or a title changed hands?
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/13/03 at 13:05:38

Hmmm... ok, in that case, please send me the *.PTS files from your circuit and also include who should what wins and losses taken away. It's a pregnant dog (*g*) to do but if it's a one-time thing, I will.

Injuries and title changes would obviously be counted.

Also, the chances what you encountered happening are so minuscule that you should start buying lottery tickets, honestly *g*

The process of setting up the match takes less than a tenth of a second. Resuming is safe before and after - only if your system crashes EXACTLY during those .05 seconds, you'll encounter what you did.

Should I include the logfile of the matches too so you can adjust the points necesary?
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/14/03 at 07:49:35

No, that won't help for measuring how many points the wrestler(s) got. I'll have to "guesstimate" ;-)
DominusPosted on 08/16/03 at 01:33:23

Did you get my e-mail Oliver?  If not what e-mail should I use?
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/17/03 at 21:38:07

copp@tnm7.com is fine. So far, no file yet, though, I'm sorry.
DominusPosted on 08/20/03 at 01:37:10

Ok I sent it the other day and I haven't heard anything yet, so I just wanted to make sure you got it this time.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/20/03 at 07:09:57

I'm so sorry, but again - I didn't get it. Could you please send to copp@hexacon.de instead? I'll get back to you *immediately* after I get the file.

Thanks!
DominusPosted on 08/20/03 at 09:52:51

I already sent it there last week.  I just sent it to both now again, so hopefully you receive it this time.
