Card crashing bug

RKLPosted on 08/08/03 at 06:47:18

I wanted to check how the new tnm7se would look on a clean install. So I installed it, imported the smackdown wrestlers and one individual wrestler (Ted Dibiase) and started a circuit and began booking the first match; a battle royal.  I was just scrolling down and randomly picking participants and I didn't notice I got to the bottom and kept hitting down and right.... TNM7se kept going after the last guy and I started getting duplicates of Zach Gowen and it was adding wrestlers but no name would show up on the right, just a blank space. I got up to around 5 invisible people. I quit out of tnm and tried again, this time starting almost at the bottom... I just kept hitting right. I got a bunch of Zach Gowen clones on the left, but just blank names on the right... after about 15 or so blank names added Nick Patrick showed up in the list on the right as a participant. It wouldn't let me add anymore and stopped at around 20 people. I filled out the rest from the top of list and tried to save the card and it gave me an error 5 at pgm-ctr:303979.

It seems to happen in any match type... I can actually go ahead and simulate a match between Zach Gowen and a blank space. It shows up like this in the intro

...

Weighing in at 145 pounds

"Tenacious Z" Zach Gowen

His opponent...
Fighting out of   16...
Weighing in at 0 pounds...

" 16 " 54

Than I get a "Sorry. A run-time error has occured." screen(btw, I'm not sure if copp@tnm.simplenet.com still works as your email. You might want to update that screen if it isn't a valid address.)

You can remove the blank guy by hitting left. I wasn't able to remove them all from the battle royal though. I can duplicate the bug 100% of the time (so far).

Tried to duplicate this - no dice at all.

After importing, you went straight on to create a circuit, right?

After creating the circuit, you went straight in and then did what?

Hired wrestlers? Or switched into e-mail mode?

Did you edit any circuit-specific wrestler records or anything?

And then you tried booking a Battle Royal?

Thanks!

Oliver,

I can confirm this. I did the following.

- Email mode.
- Schedule new card.
- Singles match.
- Select the last wrestler listed, in my case it was Xavier, as the first wrestler.
- This will cause another Xavier to pop up on the wrestler list. When you select him, no name show up on the right. But you can now finish scheduling the match. Also, when you select the second Xavier, a third will pop up.

I got the same crash when I went to run the card. Except blank Xavier's name is:

"0" 218

Check your tnm7.com address for the error.log file.

Got it, thanks to both of you! This is something that technically couldn't happen on my system but I was able to reproduce and fix it on my wife's PC.
