What's the best way to upgrade?

Fighter_HayabusaPosted on 08/04/03 at 21:03:03

I apologize if this has already been asked.

I'm currently running TNM Build 6e.  I just received my registration codes for SE + Tweakcirc 2.  What's the best way to upgrade to the new version?  Should I do a separate install and then copy my circuit and import my wrestlers, or is it better to install and just copy and paste the new tnm.bat and plugins folder?  Anyone?

Thanks!

FH

If you want to keep your 6e build, I recommend duplicating the folder (for instance naming it C:\TNM7SE) and then installing TNM 7 SE into the same folder (C:\TNM7SE in this case).

I meant: what's the best way to play my old circuit?  Do I copy the circuit's folder, paste it, and make one identically named in the new edition, or what?

Sorry about the unclearitude of my previous post... :P

I can only repeat what I said: install TNM 7 SE into the folder where your old TNM with the circuit is. It'll be upgraded :)

I'm having trouble upgrading my TNM. I did what you recommended to Fighter_Hayabusa and installed TNM 7 SE into the folder where TNM 7 Build 6e was. When it installs, it says that TNM has been upgraded,  but it still says TNM 7 Build 6e on the bottom. Please help me because I want to keep my old circuits and not have to start all over again.

Also, I want to import wrestlers that I created on TNM 7 Build 6e to TNM 7 SE, so I tried to export them. When I wanted to export them, an error came up and TNM shut down.  The screen shuts down so fast that I can't read what the error says. But I really want to import a lot of the wrestlers I had in my circuit. What can I do? Please help. Thanks in advance, Oliver. You are the best.

I believe if you want to see the error, right click on TNM.bat or the shortcut then go to properties.

Click on the 'Program' Tab then make sure "Close on Exit" is not checked.  That should make it so you can read the error and tell Oliver.

I would recommend that you ZIP up your TNM 7 First Edition folder with everything in it and all subfolders and send it my way. What you're experiencing is very strange and I'd like to get to the bottom of it.
