3 Men Tag Teams

DominusPosted on 08/04/03 at 13:03:55

Umm I think in a very earlier version of TNM 7, possibly TNM 6.2.  I had Demolition as my Tag Champions.  Ax and Smash that is.  Well I later hired Crush.  I scheduled a match between Demolition and some other team for the Tag Titles.  But I put Ax and Crush instead of Ax and Smash.  Well the titles were defended normally as if Crush was one of the champions.  Is this still possible?  Can you have 3 Men (or More) as Tag Champs aslong as they all have the same team name?  Or does the original team only have the titles.

Oh yeah one more question.  If I put "Title Up for Grabs on No Show" will it ask me if I want to put the title up or will it just automatically do it?
What about Tag Teams?
If one of the Tag Team Champions does not show and I book a replacement, will the titles still be up for grabs even if "Title Up for Grabs on No Show" is not clicked??

Yes, you can still do it but in a more controlled environment.

TNM 6.x was reckless in that if there was a string match, the titles were on the line.

So if Big Bossman and Kamala held the tag titles and then Strike Force beat Big Bossman and Kama, the titles changed hands.

TNM 7 is much more intelligent in handling titles than that. It'll even catch really awful tricks on the part of the user :)

To do that, I recommend changing the Demolition team in the circuit-specific tag team database as needed before running your card.

If "Title Change Despite No-Show" is checked, titles will change hands, no questions asked.

If it isn't, they won't - singles, tag titles - whatever.

What if there were 3 different Tag Teams called Demolition though?

Like:

Demolition (Ax/Smash)
Demolition (Ax/Crush)
Demolition (Smash/Crush)

would I have to remove 2 of them before I ran a card and just leave the 2 that would be defending the titles then?

I think I left all three before but when I went to defend the titles, only the first team in the list could defend.  (for example if I used the above list, to defend I would have to use Ax and Smash even though Ax and Crush had won the titles, because I believe TNM looked for the first accurance of Demolition)

hey I just noted what you said about Kama and Kamala, so does that mean that the wrestlers that started with "The" had the same problem?  heh there's alot of wrestlers that start with "The"

If you have multiple instances of the same team, only the first one (in the database, not in alphabetical order) will be "seen".

Tag teams are exchanged for their members when determining if a title change can occur. For instance, if the results read "Demolition beat the Power of Pain", the first instance of Demolition will substitute this to give you "Ax and Smash beat the Powers of Pain" internally. Obviously, later Demolitions then won't count anymore.

No, that's not the point.

If you had a wrestler called "The" hold a title, then it would have caused any wrestler with "The" in his name to defend the title.
