problem with RAW pack

stevetrashPosted on 08/03/03 at 17:49:38

Hi Oliver,

I downloaded the latest versions of TNM 7 SE and wrestler packs. I was getting an error when I tried to export my wrestlers to make a backup, I narrowed it down to the new RAW pack. The error I get comes up when the "Exporting tag team records" progress bar comes up. The error is "Error 9 at pgm-ctr: 281968".

Also, I'm having a problem with my ratings. I deleted all my wrestlers to clean up my move database, after importing who I needed I re-hired them in my circuit. The first thing I noticed is my singles titles were vacant, but it picked up the tag team champs. When I checked the ratings, the tag team ratings were fine, but the singles ratings were blank for all but four wrestlers. These were guys whose names I changed in my circuit database, and when I was asked if I wanted to change their names in the ratings, I said yes. It seems like the single ratings aren't picking up wrestlers' prior history.

Thanks a lot!

When deleting wrestlers, they are dropped from the singles ratings. The only exception are wrestlers whose names have been changed in the circuit (since they don't match anybody who is being deleted).

Tag team records you say... hmmm... I just tried to import the RAW pack into an empty SE and it worked fine. Is there anything else you'd be able to tell me?

Thanks!

The import function worked fine, the error occurred when I tried to export the same wrestlers.

I just tried it again with a clean install and can't duplicate this. Must've just been something I messed up.

I'm not sure if you understand my problem with the ratings. I deleted everybody from my global database so I could clean up my moves database. Then I imported all the wrestlers who were in my circuit. Then I went into my circuit and rehired everybody. I figured it would be like if you fire someone and then rehire them, when you rehire them, it picks up all their old results. And that's the way it works for the tag teams, but not for the singles.

For example, my tag team champions are Flash Flanagan and Tony St. Clair. I delete them out of my global database, then I import them back in and rehire them in my circuit. When I check the tag ratings, they're listed as the Champions and all their wins and losses are there. When I check the singles ratings, neither of them are in there even though they've both wrestled many singles matches. I guess the thing I don't understand is why are they in one but not the other?

Basically what I want to do is clean up all my databases but I don't want to lose my old fed. Is that possible? Is there a way to do a clean install and move my circuit from my old TNM to the new one? The way I'm doing it now seems to work 95%, the only thing that's screwing me up is I'm losing all my ratings.

Thanks,
-Steve

OK, I do think we're on the same page here.

As I was saying, wrestlers who are deleted are dropped from the singles ratings because they are identifiable there. It's not so easy with tag teams, hence that isn't done.

As for your circuit, the recommended MO is to create a circuit with the same name as your old one in the new copy.

Then copy the entire circuit folder from the old to the new TNM's folder.

Finally, delete CIRCDB.DAT in the circuit's folder and you should be set.

Thanks for the advice! Everything's worked out ALMOST perfectly!

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be my day. I can get into the circuit, but when I go to run TweakCirc SE, I get an error that flashes and then it immediately kicks me back out to the main circuit window.

Error 9 at pgm-ctr: 68032

Any help is greatly appreciated!

-Steve

p.s. Just to let you know, TweakCirc SE was working before I moved my circuit over.

Damn, I just got another error while trying to delete Dawn Marie from my wrestler database.

Error 9 at pgm-ctr: 316466

Tell you what... ZIP up the folder and send it my way. I'll do whatever needs to be done to integrate the old circuit into the new program.

will do, thanks Oliver!

Mailed you back... just need to delete a couple of sparse files.
