Wrestler deletion bug

John ProulxPosted on 08/03/03 at 05:25:16

I was going through the list of individual wrestler imports, and I accidentally imported someone I didn't want. When I attempted to delete that wrestler, I got the "do you want to export these wrestlers first" dialog, and I (again) accidentally hit "Yes" (guess I'm tired  :- ) . Anyway, when I attempted to cancel out of the subsequent screen, it didn't allow me to do so. I wound up having to re-export the wrestler back to the file I'd imported him from before I could delete him.

I had a similar problem earlier.  I tried deleting a couple wrestlers at the same time, it asked me if I wanted to make an export, I said no...and then TNM shut down.  The program then crashed everytime I went to the Control Center from then on out.  I didn't feel like fixing it since I had just upgraded and hadn't done much importing, so I just re-installed it.

Could either of you possibly give me a step-by-step rundown what you did importing-wise from the point of installation until it crashed on you?

Thanks!

I'm currently in the process of re-exporting everyone and re-uploading the files because some tag team finishers weren't exported correctly the first time.

FYI, I imported all packs into a new version of TNM 7 SE and aside from the one falsely exported team (T&A), everything was fine-

I imported Smackdown, then Raw, then NWA-TNA, then ROH.  I then went to the Control Center....Database....Wrestlers....Delete Wrestler.  I went through and chose between 5-10 wrestlers I wouldn't be using.  It then asked me if I would like to make an export and I said "no".  It asked me if I was really sure I wanted to delete, and I said "yes".  The little bar went across the screen showing it was deleting the files, and then it crashed.

My TNM never actually crashed. I had just attempted to delete a wrestler, and had said "Yes" to creating an export. When I tried to select "Cancel" at that point, it wouldn't cancel out, and I had to follow through with creating the export before it would let me out of the dialog.

That behaviour is intentional because it keeps people from losing precious data if they go through the motions without thinking. Maybe I'm alone in this but I think it's a small pain to HAVE to specify a file to export the wrestler(s) to instead of having to endure the one case where you mistakenly click "Cancel" and are robbed of your last chance of saving the wrestler records you're about to delete.

Well then just get rid of the Cancel button if it's not going to work  :P .

It's a standard dialog :)
