No Idea what the error is
ViolentJericho | Posted on 07/18/03 at 09:05:16 :- I just installed TNM7 on my new computer and got all my old wrestlers/plugins and everything back and I tried to run a card but as soon as I try to save the card the program exits by itself and I can't even get a chance to see what the error was. Does anyone have a clue what's going on? I ran diagnostics it found nothing wrong |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 07/18/03 at 09:33:22 It isn't anything that's wrong with TNM 7. Some versions of Windows' DOS shell show that behavior which there is no base for nor a straight workaround for. In some versions of Windows, this helps: Please right-click the "DOS Prompt" icon on your Windows desktop and click "Properties". Then look for a checkbox along the lines of "Prevent Application From Detecting Windows" and make sure it is checked. |
ViolentJericho | Posted on 07/19/03 at 06:54:02 I'm sorry I'm running Windows XP and I don't know how to get to the dos prompt, I tried to run it in different windows compatability modes but that didn't work either :( |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 07/19/03 at 09:47:12 Hmmm... that is positively odd. To start TNM through a shell that doesn't close, please do the following: 1) Right-click on an empty space on your desktop. 2) Select "New", then "Shortcut". 3) For the shortcut enter: cmd /k c:\tnm7\tnm.bat (substitute the actual folder where your TNM resides for c:\tnm7) 4) When the shortcut has been created, right-click it and bring up "Properties". 5) The property sheet will pop up. In the lower half of the window, there's a field titled "Run in" (or something to that effect), with %windir% being entered in the text box on its right. 6) Replace %windir% with the folder where your TNM 7 resides, e.g. c:\tnm7 7) Click "OK" and you should be set. Please let me know what error code you're given then. Thanks! |
ViolentJericho | Posted on 07/19/03 at 12:45:48 The error that I get is Error 7 at pgm-ctr 173139 |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 07/19/03 at 13:22:39 "Error 7" means "out of memory". Most likely your wrestler and/or move databases are too large. As a pointer: your wrestler database should be around 600-700 max, the move database in the 400-600 region. Please use TNM7DIAG to find out your exact numbers. |
ViolentJericho | Posted on 07/20/03 at 00:44:37 Heh thanks Oliver I did have quit a few to many wrestlers... (1711) but anyway! I deleted them and it works now thanks a lot :D |
LillaThrilla | Posted on 07/22/03 at 20:20:12 1711 wrestlers?! Wow... |
Critic_of_the_Dawn | Posted on 07/24/03 at 04:39:50 Daaaaaaamn. I've only got 1516. Sounds like somebody installed minis in their TNM! Eric "Critic of the Dawn" |
